Word escaped from the Talons Winter Headquarters in Daytona Beach that the team's accounting department has recently stumbled upon some hidden funds locked away in a secret league account.

Everyone knows that the team is always scraping by for cash. In fact the club has never earned a dime of profit and constantly has to write useless team news articles to earn money. And now with a bunch of up and coming star players beginning to enter their arbitration years, the money crunch will only get worse. So when the club's accounting staff recently found a dusty old spreadsheet in the basement labelled "Bonus Funds", they were perplexed by what they saw.

Apparently, the Phoenix Talons have $1.9 million locked away in this secret fund. No doubt a shady slush fund ran by higher ups among the BBA's elite underground illuminati governing board, this stash of cash has raised many questions. Where did it come from? How does the team access it? Does it grow like an investment, or stagnate like cash under a mattress? "I mean, is the money ours, or not?" asked Talons accounting intern Paul Krugman. "If it's ours, why can't we have it? If it's not ours, why does it exist? Seriously guys, we really need this money. Like really need it. Seriously," Krugman emphasized.

"The only thing that would be worse is.... well,...." Krugman trailed off.

"The only thing that would be worse would be that these 'Bonus Funds' are an actual, non-secret thing that teams use all the time, and we either never heard of it or don't understand it," the young intern admitted. "That would really suck."

"But anyway, can we have the money? Please?"

No, really how do you get the money? Does it cost PPT?

Nope. It's yours. You just can't have more than 20 mil in cash in game. You also can't go over 40 mil in bonus funds. Moving cash into in game or out of in game to bonus funds is free. At the end of each season, any cash you have on hand over 20 mil is moved to bonus funds. This is basically to keep teams with huge revenues from just accumulating 200 million in cash reserves in game over the course of a decade and breaking the in game economy. (player demands are in some ways tied to revenues and cash amounts available.)
