A Few Beers In 2034.1
Here is the debut of something we hope to make semi regular. We literally just bounce wildly around on different topics about the league while drinking. We will try to set up a time and announce it on the boards and people can just drop in and out on skype while we talk about stuff. Its no holds bar and we will surely end up ripping on peoples choices, trades, rosters, face (Louisville), etc but remember its all in good fun and alcohol is certainly a factor (especially as the night gets later).
It ended up being roughly 4 hours and was a lot of fun. We even had a few guest appearances. Due to a recording snafu (my modem power cycled) we dropped the skype call and had to reconnect. So its in 2 parts. Enjoy.
Part 1 (about 8 minutes)
Part 2 (about 3 hours 50 minutes)
Contributors: Ted, The Commish, Fred, Me
If people want I will try to jot down notes about what we talked about and when we talked about it in future episodes but that mostly went out the window this time as it was sort of a trial run.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
I will say at least 20 minutes of the podcast was spent admiring stupid face gen pictures and fondly remembering how fat Perry Eccles was... Like I said a ton of fun.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
I never even realized Clark was LH and I didn't know about OOTP not giving LH guys a 3B rating. Makes sense that he blows. But makes sense.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
I think Edmonton is managing their minors fine. The game is quite different today with all the young kinds around. Gilbert, for example, looks like a great process if you just look at his numbers rather than his rating bars. My guess is that he can skip A-ball, then maybe skip AAA.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
Just a note on low control pitchers...they will do far better in leagues where hitters tend to have low Eye ratings. Read that as you wish.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
listening to part one, and I laughed at the "bigger man comment" since at the time you guys were recording this I was sitting in the driveway drunk with my friends while my wife was sober watching the baby monitor.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
Just got to the CCJ part.
*Leon will be on the roster as long as I don't get a SP by next sim. He was on the team, but was horrible. Hasn't been that great at AAA either. But I agree, I need to add a SP or have one of my guys step up. Behner and Reyes have been doing well of late.
*AAA team is that way by design. Just threw out a bunch of MiLC's to vets I thought could possibly help. It got me Espinoza. I'll take what he's doing as my #5. And with my best prospects at the lower levels, this strategy isn't blocking anyone.
*Backstrom will probably move to 1B in ST. I think Maldonado is doing just fine there right now though.
*We aren't falling out.
*Nice ramblings, gentleman. Entertaining stuff.
