good listen guys, especially with the insights on the rest of the league. I went on record last year as a mexico city doubter, but that pitching staff could prove me wrong. If nothing else, I know Fred approves of how I set up my defense haha.

great stuff, very entertaining
It always surprises me how intelligent and 'normal' everyone sounds on our league podcasts
I always pictured you guys (the BBA GMs) with pocket protectors and retainers living in your mom's basements, and then I swing by your house in my highschool letterman's jacket and slap you around a little for fun...

Re: GM's Corner Podcast: 2034|Sim 8-Mexico City GM Fred Holm
I was finally able to sit down and listen to this episode and this was really top notch guys. You do a great job with these Ron and I'm glad you and Ted are putting in the efforts you guys do to put these different podcasts together.
As for Fred, I think it is pretty clear how he's been able to be so successful in the league. A lot of guys are stuck in their own bubble when it comes to a league, but you can tell he's looking around the file for the players and teams who are over/under-performing and has very good knowledge of the league as a whole.
As for significant others, I feel you. My wife is used to it as I was doing podcasts for the eMLB back when we first started living together over 10 years ago.
Can't wait for the next installment!

I finally got to listen to this last night. I have to say, very impressive. I'm not sure if I'm in over my head or just need more time to get acquainted with everything and every one.

Just listened to this, I have a few reactions:
- Hats off to Ron. Your prep and editing are the hard part, all I did was show up and run my mouth for awhile. Thank you.
- Holy crap do I talk fast...
- I love the podcasts. I had a blast talking to Ted in the offseason and with Ron for this. It's awesome connecting with another human being, even (especially?) over fake baseball. If you guys have an opportunity to be involved in any of these I highly recommend it.

It has taken me a very long time to get comfortable in this league. Lots of big voices with strong opinions. It's a group of good guys though and it's great once you get comfortable. You're not over your head, there's just a learning curve.GoldenOne wrote:I finally got to listen to this last night. I have to say, very impressive. I'm messing with compression and pitch a little, so we're both speeded up just a touch. I'll probably tone it down a little next one, but is saved us 3 minutes of runtime on a 30+ minute original.Rubaboo wrote: - Holy crap do I talk fast...
The podcast chats are great fun, but an _extra_ part of why I like doing this is that it gives me an opportunity to play with the technology.

Ha. No, the banana bread entered into the league consciousness shortly after Slack started which was well after this was recorded.CTBrewCrew wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 10:45 pmNot one mention of banana bread but a shout out to Brett

Re: GM's Corner Podcast: 2034|Sim 8-Mexico City GM Fred Holmes
Since Mike resurrected this thread I listened to it again - Gomez is still 10 Ks short of my team lead but is now a pitching coach in my minors... *sad face*
It's also interesting how little the core guys in my pitching staff have changed since this happened. Pendleton, Rocha, Pham, and Wagner are all still on my team and doing well. Apparently I haven't been particularly active in the player transactions front over the past several seasons.

Must be tough to find time for transactions when you have to spend so much time on logistics for endless double headers.
