Feel bad for Ron as I think YS was the better team over the season and even in this series. Congrats on another great season, sorry it didn't work out for the Nine in the end, but not going to act like I'm not happy to sneak a 2nd title out of this run.

Despite Hahn getting series MVP (probably because of his walk-off in game 3), Leon Beaucage's return from injury was surprisingly important. With 4 games being started by lefties, he slotted right in with 4 starts and chipped in with 6 RBI and 3 R. Norris Rutledge with an interesting line for the series. Zero extra base hits and RBI for the slugger, but he turned 10 singles into 8 stolen bases and 5 runs scored.

Gamblers Bido Suffers Setback, Career Over
"It's one of the worst injuries of its kind I have ever encountered." Those were the opening words of the specialist that treated Atlantic City Gamblers first baseman Rafael Bido for a ruptured finger tendon. Speaking at a press conference, the doctor went on to say, "In my professional opinion, it is highly doubtful that Rafael will ever play baseball again. Miracles are always possible, but not in this case. The original injury was treatable, but several setbacks during the rehabilitation worsened the situation and did more damage." The distraught Bido also spoke to reporters, saying, "I anticipated that the recovery would be slow, but I never expected this." Team officials said that the 35-year-old Bido would take a few weeks to decide about his future.

In 2033 Bido has hit at a .222 clip with 97 hits, 27 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 58 times.

A borderline Hall of Famer, I think, but maybe he doesn't make it.

Too bad for Bido. He definitely had 500 HR and 400 SB in him if he didn't retire. Still, if Cochran is any indication, he'll have a hard time getting in.

These decisions are....interesting. Sandcastle shits on $18,000,000 (although this may be the last time his ratings look good enough to get a multi-year deal) while Tonche throws away $28m guaranteed with $32m in team options tacked on.

I dunno about selling Bido's Hall chances yet. He has 300+ SB Cochran doesn't have. He was a net positive defender at 1B for the majority of his career while Cochran was a DH. He's still probably a borderline case, but so's Cochran. I think Bido is just a tad better. Maybe more. If you like wRC+ at all, it rates Bido as about a 10% better hitter than Cochran over his career. That's not insignificant. He is debatable, but he's a fundamentally different case than Cochran, based on the speed and defense he brought.

Ye-haw! 16.6M off the books next year! I am surprised he did this. Guy is 32 years old. Lumping terribly (although his stats dont show it). He is currently sitting on the DL with his 3rd major injury in 3 years. Wont even be healthy again until July, and was due 50.4M over the next 4 years if he just executed his option. I doubt he will get close to that in Free Agency.
