Would have liked to have brought back Valera, but forgot to make him the offer last sim and missed the export this one. Oh well.

I didn't make the original comment but have similar thoughts.Ted wrote:Wait, what? Why? Did I miss something?udlb58 wrote:

1. Boogie is going from a band box to one of the biggest parks in the league.
2. There seems to be a trend of 3B totally losing their defense. Boogie has all the warning signs.
Hopefully I'm wrong. I'm not killing the signing. He's the type of player that can carry a team to the Landis. But there is a chance that he could become a declining, injury prone DH sooner rather then later.

I really don't mind if I have to play him at first. The 3B defense thing seems to be inconsistent and rather bizarre I think. Almost like it's a bug, because I feel like guys with better range than Boogie have lost their rating. He hasn't declined so far so I'm betting he'll be good for years one and two of the deal. Three is a gamble, and 4 and 5 aren't guaranteed.

Ha. It was because he's going from a cushy spot to one of the parks hitters go to die. In Huntsville he was surrounded by great hitters and played in a hitter's park (with a number of other hitters parks in the division). In Cali, he will have to carry the load (unless we are betting on another .840 OPS season from Defazio and .930 OPS from Brunskill), setting the table as the #3/4 hitter for the two big boppers, and will have to do so in a difficult home park.ae37jr wrote:I didn't make the original comment but have similar thoughts.Ted wrote:Wait, what? Not because of his talent. In fact, I was mad at myself for signing Ramos to an extension when I saw Eisenhower's demands. I'd much rather have him, even at $7m more, than Ramos. Though, if Pierce gets his head out of his ass, I should be fine with him as the Righty platoon.
