Sluggers Heading to Landis Memorial Series
The championship aspirations of the Louisville Sluggers are still alive and well, while the Long Beach Surfers are left to wait until next year.

Louisville won the clinching game of the Cartwright Cup 10-6 over Long Beach at Louisville Waterfront Park, to win the series 4-2.

"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said catcher Shag Hopkins, who paced the Louisville offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."

Hopkins claimed the MVP by racking up 10 hits for a .370 average, with a .370 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Louisville Sluggers will play the Las Vegas Hustlers in the Landis. The Landis Memorial Series is scheduled to begin on October 24th, 2030.
