Agreed. Some of the top players might be (or have proven to be) good enough to be top players in the NHL, but the depth is nowhere close to NHL roster depth, and the quality of play suffers accordingly.

They have at least one team, to my recollection, that could probably put in a respectable record (certainly not make the playoffs, though) in the NHL (SKA), but for the most part the teams in the KHL are betwen AHL and SEL quality - aka. wouldn't be able to hold their own against NHL competition.
