2011 Hall of Fame Ballot

Post by jcrmoon42 » Sat Jul 20, 2013 2:26 pm

There are some really good players who are not on this ballot. The last two guys on the ballot last year got dumped in favor of experimenting with a couple other big names. Still, there are players with some serious numbers not on this ballot in favor of some guys who got lots of votes last year. As always, the balloting should be interesting. Interesting to see if this could actually be the year that Riley Hinson gets enough support!

Ballots due to me by the end of the championship series. Feel free to post your ballot here if you wish for everyone to see it.

Did you mean to have Medric Wood back on and Dwayne Johnson off?

No worries. Figured we'd give Medric another shot. His career totals are just too good to be as disregarded as he was when he was on the ballot previously. I'm surprised by the amount of attention that Eddie Harris gets compared to Larry Lasalle. Nearly dropped Lasalle in favor of some other guys with great totals but couldn't do that and leave Harris on.

Is this the first time Foodie has appeared on the Ballot? I was coming to mention him and saw he's on there this time.

Yeah, he got bypassed last year. Each year, I look at the last guys on the previous ballot and determine whether there are people, either recently or previously retired, who deserve to be on the ballot more. Foodie's ERA+ kept him off the last couple of ballots when compared to the other guys considered. Figured we'd give him a whirl this year!

The first seven ballots received show the rest of the voting will be interesting. One guy with the early, strong lead. Two others knocking on the door.

Without a dominant name on the ballot, Hinson has a serious shot this time!

No waiting period here.

With 12 ballots received, the race is tight. Two guys with just enough points at the moment. One more only 7 points short. Every vote counts!
