2007 Hall of Fame Final Tally

Post by jcrmoon42 » Mon Nov 26, 2012 6:07 pm

Congratulations to Ken Howell for his election to the MBWBA Hall of Fame on his first ballot. Six other players received first place votes, but none garnered enough support for election this year. Unfortunately, we must say goodbye to Archie Ayrault and Evander Kilkenny, two candidates that some supporters believe never got the respect they deserve. Commish's favorite, Riley Hinson, got good support but not quite enough for election this year. Still, finishing second does bode well for his eventual election.

Here is your final tally. 18 teams voted. 414 points required for election.

1. Ken Howell - (1)-9, (2)-3, (3)-1, (4)-1, (5)-2, (9)-1, (15)-1, Total - 562

Someone voted Ken Howell last.

Congrats to Kenny, well deserved. You guys are getting closer on Hinson. Perhaps 2008 is his year?

Unfortunately, Ted Sale comes up next year. Not sure who else at the moment. Guys who dominate the ballot don't help guys like Hinson much.

Well, if 4 GM's wouldn't have voted him lower than #10, he would have probably been elected. What the heck is wrong with you four?

Also Larry Lasalle, Damian Bedgood, Sadaharu Oh, Jr., and Kenare Sobah retired.

He had enough points quite a ways into the voting, and I thought he just might make it. Then the low ballots started coming in.

Lasalle should get a lot of support.
