Congratulations to the great, if unheralded, Gary Barr on his election to the Hall of Fame. In 23 MBWBA seasons, Barr ranks high among the career leaders in hits (2nd), RBI (3rd), runs scored (4th) and home runs (7th). Even with all of that, he only made 3 All Star games in his career and isn't a name that falls off the tongue of the average MBWBA fan. One voter even put him 11th on their ballot! Just the same, he's an immortal now! All the other candidates stole votes from one another, leaving no other candidate within 96 points of election.

Voting turnout wasn't great with only 16 ballots received. Here is your final tally. 368 points required for election.

Perhaps so, and it is likely he gets in at some point based on this performance. At the same time, there are some voters putting him really low on their ballots.

Probably being too casual and just comparing numbers to numbers, not considering the position he played and how good he was at that position.

Exact argument I've been making for Ayrault and Menne that seems to fall on deaf ears.

Hard to believe there has never been a catcher elected to your Hall of Fame yet.

Can I ask what happened to the old statistics and such?
