Struggling to see him as a Hall of Famer. I guess I can see it, but he's no slam dunk in my scan and in my memory. Perhaps it's just me.

Three brilliant years as a stopper. Pretty solid most of the time. Very good pitcher. Hmmm...

Several Egans, which is obviously good. But he didn't win a Nebraska even though that was the era when the best stoppers were actually valued that way. Obviously a dominating K pitcher, but that was a dominating K-rate era.

Shawn Huber is a Hall of Famer, so I guess maybe that works in his favor.

The only Slam Dunk I see is Dennis French and his 80 WAR. I can't see how someone leaves him off their ballot.

Interesting that his HoF standards don't come over properly into StatsPlus. Yeah. I'll add him in. He was better than I remember.

I was away for most of de' Medici prime years. Just added him to my list. 330 k out of the bullpen multiple times? Wtf. He had 18 stuff before 18 stuff became cool.

Pagan reminds me of steroid era MLB(someone like Jim Thome?). Sure he hit 600 homers, but he was never evan a top 10 player in the league his entire career.

Not saying Thome did steroids. Just that 500-600 homers got lost in that era.

Interestingly, Pagan was not one of my 10 votes. Not enough dimensions to him as a player.
Likewise.
I can't pass on 600 homers.

I'm totally not seeing de'Medici.
Me either, Ron. All I saw was length of career.

He was just a strikeout machine. Compare him with the top SP candidate, Danya. de’ Medici has more K’s in 1000 fewer innings pitched. de’ Medici was a dominant stopper and helped elevate that role’s usage in the league.

Comparing him to Mariano Rivera. JAWS is just a hair lower, 42.5 for Rivera, 42.3 for de Medici. Rivera's WAR of 56.3 also a bit higher than de Medici's of 51.6. FIP- is virtually identical, 62 for Rivera and 61 for de Medici. K/9 is no contest, with Rivera tallying 8.22 and de Medici 13.7.

de Medici is a slam dunk, if that's such a thing for a reliever.

I'm not sure what some of you guys are looking at. You don't vote for guys based on career totals like 3000 hits, 600 homers, etc. And then you don't vote for guys that dominated in annual awards either, 4 Egans, 6 Zimmers, 10 All Star Games. Maybe we should change the name from Hall of Fame to Hall of Few. I can't believe that once again we only have 1 inductee this year.

It should be an exclusive club, but not Costco exclusive.
