1. Eligibility

Any player who retires from the MBBA by July 1 of that year and has not been retired for more than 10 years is eligible for HOF nomination.

2. Nomination

First, we'll compile a list of HOF nominees. This will happen around the All Star break each season. The top 15 retirees who are deemed worthy will be added to the nominees list. This list will include the previous year's unelected nominees plus the new nominees. If the new nominees will make the list more than 15, then the lowest ranking nominees from the previous year's voting will be removed. It is possible that players previously on the ballot will return in future years if deemed necessary.

3. Voting

Each owner will be asked to rank all nominees from most-deserving to least-deserving.

Points will be given as follows based on where the player is ranked.
1 --------------------------- 43
2 --------------------------- 30
3 --------------------------- 23
4--------------------------- 16
5 --------------------------- 15
6 ------------------------- 14
7 ------------------------- 13
8 ------------------------- 12
9 ------------------------- 11
10 ------------------------- 10
11 ------------------------- 9
12 -------------------------- 8
13 -------------------------- 7
14 --------------------------- 6
15 --------------------------- 5

Points will be given for each ballot, and those points will be totaled.

The idea behind the bonus points is to award about 25% of all available points to a ballot's top-ranked nominee, about 20% to the 2nd-ranked, and 15% to the third-ranked player.

4. Induction

Any nominee who receives a point total which equals 23 times the number of ballots received will be elected. If nobody receives that many points, the top vote getter will be inducted.

Bumping this topic so the new folks see it. Not sure I have authority to put it at the top of the board.
