Kurt’s point about Natta possibly losing votes because it’s hard to see his stats is something I’m definitely concerned about when I think about his chances at the Hall of Fame.

His rookie year, he put up a combined 4.6 WAR and didn’t finish in the top 3 for Rookie of the Year. His teammate Lawrence Stewart won the award with 4 WAR as a Catcher.

This year, he put up 4.5 WAR as a hitter and 4.3 as a pitcher, for a combined 8.8 WAR. He is currently 15th in Silk voting with just one 3rd place vote. (1 guess who made that vote.). He is behind many players with 5-7 WAR, and even 2 players with less WAR than Bandit has just as a position player. If he hadn’t gotten hurt, I think he would have ended up with 10 combined WAR and I would have been shouting about it from the mountain tops. As it is, he is completely off the radar despite technically posting more WAR than any other player in the BBA. (Not that the top WAR player should always win…I didn’t even vote for him as the top choice, but to have more WAR than any other player in the league and get one 3rd place vote and nothing else just backs up Kurt’s point about Natta’s possible trouble with a future Hall of Fame vote if he keeps playing at this level.)

I meant to mention that Natta's case will be enhanced if Charlotte continues to win, too.

If Silk = MVP he should get more votes. But we don’t have pitchers eligible for the Silk so tbh I don’t consider his pitching.

That makes sense and if Silk doesn’t actually equal MVP then I guess it doesn’t make sense to vote for him there based on his performance there this year.

Not sure what the issue was, but I see the full audio didn't load the first time. I've refreshed it, so now folks who listen on Spotify will hear the whole thing.

The video was always the full talk.

A couple of roster manipulations I've encountered recently.

I almost sent Gallehos, Sanchez and Duran to Single A in October....

-we were locked into the Top Wild card spot. Going 0-6 that week would change nothing.
-all three players would gain an extra year of team control
-would have helped us win the A-ball championship

Decided it was a little too gamey.

Right before roster expansion I sent 2-3 solid players(I know Parker Clontz was one of them) to AAA because I had players coming off the DL and didn't want to burn a player option on a lesser player who hadn't already used an option this season or have to waive someone who was out of options. Especially just for one week. August is definitely a month I do some shady roster gymnastics.
