Not worth a listen with no Popes.

(listening now, nonetheless...)
Sacramento Mad Popes
-- Vic Caleca Team News Award Winner 2052
-- BBA Champion 2053
— The Heartland Sucks
-- Pacific Champs 2040, 2042, 2043, 2047, 2048, 2049, 2051, 2053, 2054, 2058
Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Well, you released Modica. Also, Joffer would've made this list. :)

Looking up how prospects were acquired is my favorite part of these lists. Where are all the former Surfers???

Finally, a Nashville prospect list devoid of bulletproof guys. Usamah still needs a lot of development although you have to be happy with that 2058 production. I love bin Eisa’s profile but he has the same problem, minus the strong 2058 production. Spurlock remains my pet prospect in yer system.

I look forward to listening to this on my drive home.

To me Modica is the #1 guy on the list. He's almost untouchable

He just doesn’t have the ceiling as others, though he may very well out-WAR everyone on this list.

That said, I like Cantu a lot, but he leads me to that great philosophical question of whether you'd rather have a Catcher Arm of (say) 8 rather than a 10/11. Because an arm that good just keeps people from stealing, but in reality, you kind of want the other guy to steal some, especially if you can throw out, say 30%.

Those are the things great bar discussions bring about, though.

I'd love your take on my org's top 10.

I'm with you on Thomas. He's going to be a quality starter, but he'll need to pitch on a team with a decent bullpen to win a bunch of games. But at a 4 stamina he can make it into the 6th often enough. Sometimes the 7th. That'll play.

Reed, to me, is the definition of the word "prospect" in that if he doesn't bump the bat no matter who you are he'll not be a net positive no matter how gaudy the defense. You can dig through the profiles over time and see that his ceiling as it stands right now is a tad below replacement.

If he bumps, though, you can make that work. And, of course, if her really bumps we're in a new zipcode.

I'd love your take on my org's top 10.
So much depends on when the kids come in, and whether the old players are continuing into their 40s. It also depends on pitching, which is astoundingly bloated right now. And it depends on what the import of v25 does...enough said about that for now, though. If the pitchers are as strong as right now, then, for example Eisa is almost not a prospect due to that "5" contact. He's effectively Run-ming Gui without the power, and to be direct, even with the power Gui is just a decent filler on a good team. If the "5" plays, then he's a workable guy--especially since he can play better than passably at second. (note that Gui is having essentially his best rate year ever because I can finally platoon him).

I like Spurlock well enough, but there are a lot of those guys around. He's a good work ethic guy. Maybe he'll bump.

I'm not sure why Ajwad Duqac wasn't on the list. Maybe it's cause he's got a long way to go, but he's looking like one of the more pure hitters in the lower part of the organization.

-----

Bottom line, I'd agree in general, you've graduated a huge wave of impact kids, so what's left behind isn't as breathtaking.

But, yeah. It would not be surprising to me to see Modica on the short list for Egan awards soon. I loved him when I grabbed him in Sacramento. :)

Duqaq was supposed to be on the list originally, but he was omitted and I didn't wanna go back and change it around lol. He'd probably slot in at #7 for me. I'd probably leave Spurlock off this list. And yeah, he has not played well at all and has quite the development in front of him.
