We should all detour from my whining about how I think the HOF should be and go look at Cal Ripken Jr.'s career. I feel like his excellence got lost a bit in breaking Gehrig's record. If you asked people who the best three SS by WAR in MLB history are, I wonder how many would get Cal at 3. Honus Wagner and Arod are pretty easy. Ripken is third by a mile and a whole solid career's worth of value ahead of the 5th place guy.aaronweiner wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 2:39 pmThe only one I remembered was Joe Tinker, so ever's the chance you might have gotten at least one.

Well, I grew up in Maryland.
Fun fact: I didn't have a ticket the night that Cal broke the record, but my father and I drove to Baltimore and they let us into the stadium in the 8th inning without a ticket. I didn't get an autograph or anything but he hung around for at least a half hour after the game.

As Ron and Nige stated Boxing Day is 26th December, back in Victorian times I think it was when the rich gave gifts to the poor.

Yup, and now it's mainly a shopping day. I kind of hate us sometimes.

We as a family get together Boxing Day, sadly not this year but we started a few years back getting each other a gift on Boxing Day but it can't be above £15 plus something usually stupid or retro or the likes. For the grand kids the wife and myself usually get them games like operation, buckaroo games like that.
