GM's Corner - Episode 26 (TWC)
Scott Piccoli and Ron Collins talk about the Twin Cities River Monsters, the BBA, and share thoughts on building teams. Along the way there might be a fish story about the one that did NOT get away, and some ruminating about what it means to be a catcher.

"Josh Brown was a victim of his expectations"...loved that. Happens all the time and it's tough to swallow.
Great point about the FA market (or teams' payrolls in signing extensions) in this next few years in the wake of the 2038 Draft.
Scott, you mentioned about watching game replays...do you still do that? What about everyone else in the league? I might start doing that during this time to see if I can see how games break down outside of just the boxscore.
Great listen, as always...that was as good as any GM's Corner about how to run your organization.

I've been after Scott to do one of these for a bit, but I think this was the perfect time for him--just as his rebuild is starting to settle and the lessons learned are freshest.

Yeah... sometimes I do. For whatever reason, it’s better (and more entertaining) than just reading the log.
And thank you

Loved that game... but damn, it was a time sink. Hours and hours of creating plays and adjusting game plans... then testing... testing... testing...CTBrewCrew wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 7:25 pmI lost many an hour in my youth to this game as well...

Where was I? I missed out on Front Office Football! And Scott is a lot like me, in my brief experience with OOTP, where I get into the weeds of my team and I don't focus on what's happening with the rest of the league. I also loved Ron's explanation about his seven year plan and spending a lot of time analyzing his minor leagues. I feel like I want to aspire to that level.
