I assume the pacific award winner of the jon reed award is in fact jon reed? Either that or it goes to my entire staff (minus zeitler).

A format? Talking points? Awards? I don't know if I can get used to this.

Other teams must be slacking. I feasted on the Frontier in April. 8-1 fellas. :) May has started as well. I think after today's sim we are 4-4 so far.

Also, a buddy of mine in a former league used to say every May 1st about teams "you can't win a division in April but you can lose it."

This was fun to listen to. I'll see if I can make the next one. Edmonton did well in April without a real standout player. Pitching has been really good with the bullpen performance being the most shocking. Huerta and Luna have been shutting down teams, but even the pitchers around them have been solid. We were at home a lot in April which probably helped. The offense was hot to start the season, but the last week and a half or so of the month the offense fell flat. I'm interested in seeing if that continues because we'll definitely see a lot more losses in April if we don't score runs.

We have some big hitters in the Frontier and Edmonton hasn't played against many of them. Facing Calgary and San Antonio for the first time in May and they are away games. That road trip is huge. Thankfully, we have an off day in the middle of it so we can lick our wounds.

I wouldn't count out Boise so quickly. Edmonton was in last place for the first half of the season. It wasn't until we traded Dusty that things started to turn around for us.

I think San Antonio will be challenging for first place before season's end. They have the pitching and hitting, they just need to put together a few more W's. I think an interesting question could be who in the Johnson may be pushed out of the playoffs by season's end. Could four teams from the Frontier claim wild card spots leaving the Atlantic with just the division winner representing them?

Happy to see De Castillo still doing the deed. The deal Mike signed him to was still a little pricey, but he's done what San Antonio needed--and when he was with us, anyway, he had the ability to get hot like that and literally carry the offense for a week or three at a time.
