Could be $25M. He has an opt-out so if he does well, he probably take it. More than likely $20M. Depending on the development of Andrade, I'd consider exercising the team option if he does opt-in.

I like my contract last year for Garcia better then Louisville's. Paid $2.2 million(1.3 less then LOU and his lowest yearly salary since he made league minimum), didn't have to gimmick the deal, got 2.8 WAR, and a comp pick. Just a classic buy low.

I think pitching will kill both Portland and Charlotte.

Like you said on Portland, I’m not 100% down on this team. I think the division is so tough though that’ll it’ll cause a lot of losses. I like my defense. Think I have enough offense (with the defense) to remain competitive but just don’t have pitching.

Truth be told I’m making 2045 the Target year to have things working in Portland as the draft (and having early picks) will help boost our talent haul down the road.

As a fellow GM of a recent expansion team, a five-year plan is a safe bet in order to see some draft picks make their way up the system or dealt for help at the major league level. Just hope -- and apologies to Fran Fraschilla and Bruno Caboclo (NBA heads will know) -- that you're not five years away from being five years away. ;)
