Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
This will be the first AFBI for a few guys in this league, excited to hear it. I'm just sad I wasn't on to point out to Brett how awesome the #mendozaline is doing this year.

He's doing great and I love that guy for many reasons. If you add, or rather subtract, the value your catchers are providing however...usnspecialist wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 9:54 amThis will be the first AFBI for a few guys in this league, excited to hear it. Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
Good stuff guys. Listened to expansion on the way to work and this on the way home. Here is a few random thoughts.
-I should have dangled Nico Eijpe to Fred. Didn't realize his 3B went down for the year.
-Really happy with the Sanchez/Vega deal. Even if Vega lumps some he'll still be almost the same player as Sanchez, but fits my window better.
-Surprised nobody mentioned that Jon Reed is making $34 million over the next 2 years. #shotsfired
-This deadline was dead because there aren't that many bubble teams. And the little bubble teams there were couldn't justify spending.
-I don't really think there are teams tanking. It's just with the amount of super teams... a lot of teams are reloading. And most of the super teams are nearing the end of their runs. Changes in OOTP finances, injuries, and the talent bubble(a lot of flameouts coming) will make it harder to stay super.

Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
Jon reed is making 34 million the next 2 years because I have the budget room then. After 2040 i have to pay everyone so I structured it to plummet to 4m then

Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
$4 million seems about right for a 2 WAR staring pitcher who will be 33-35 in those 3 years. It's the two years $34 million before it that doesn't look so hot.

Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
I'm hoping this year is a blip and not a trend, he has been pretty steady over 3 before this.

Re: Trade Deadline Podcast?
Maybe. But he is a power pitcher who relies solely on power. Once he loses 2 mph or 1 point of stuff, he is going to be totally useless. Hard to bet on him holding up 4-5 more years to justify the contract.
