2038 Frick League FA Review Podcast Part 2, The Frontier

Post by Ted » Mon Mar 18, 2019 5:00 am

Ron Collins, Stephen Lane and Ted Schmidt review the FL Frontier division FA signings. This was recorded prior to spring training. Jeff proves us to be prescient about Boise after we spend a lot of time missing the most obvious reason for their lack of early FA activity. We spend entirely too long trying to unravel the mystery of Michael Durham.

Yeah I have too much dead money to do anything. If I didn't, I would've signed a catcher or pitcher a while ago. Always fun listening to these!

If this tells you anything....I just got to listen to this today at work... ...I had planned to spend more in free agency on short term deals and I either missed on the guys or just didn't have time (with work and some with my recovery from surgery in October and then back in the hospital with complications in January...work is out of hand right now and I am eventually going to have to figure something out) to focus on it. This is a frustrating team but it does have a few bright spots....maybe they are bright because the rest of it is so bad...lol Then I signed Marrero because I thought it would be cool to have him back (and he's good defensively) as I drafted him when I was the GM for Twin Cities and we did the expansion draft....then I realized I had 2 pretty good catchers and I realized I just hadn't spent enough time on a plan...I did finally land Kharlamov, which is good. I had intended to splash in IFA's but I got outbid on every player by Stever...so there's that....the change in ratings threw me for a loop as well, but I've said enough about that. Overall, I have set myself a year back and I've written a TN here that will now be a single post...

Great job on the preview!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm excited about my team this season, but anything can happen. I think the Frick overall improved itself this season, so the challenge likely got a little tougher. Loved listening to this. Good work!

You can make a case that the 2-5 teams in the entire bba are in the frick.

I agree that 2 to 5 of teams in the entire bba are, in fact, in the frick.
