Driscoll is exhibit A when it comes to the need for a defensive replacement. B ut if he OBPs .370, he's a superior offensive cog who generally comes at value. If I were a building team needing a stopgap I'd take him in a heartbeat. That said, he's crossing to the wrong side of 30, so the risk of his bat declining is pretty serious.
a stopgap with a fully guaranteed 4 year deal like driscoll has is a bit of a head scratcher though.

Tuned in to see what you had to say about me, ended up getting: Rockville is good, that is all, good night. Laughed a little.

Let's see if I can do the impossible.

I agree the contract is a bit long. But the issue there, to my thinking, is not Driscoll himself, and not even the dollars in the near-term, but the length of the commitment.

That said, (1) perhaps I'll be proven wrong, and (2) the Genius is pretty good at what he does, and he can deal with a $4M falling out of his sister's bed in the morning.

I still don't understand how Wichita's fan interest is 100.

I certainly agree that it was an overpay on Quezada but Fred had trumped my first offer and he was the only FA I wanted (and that I had any chance of affording. Quezada might well never be a leading light on many BBA teams but I'd back him to be better than the shower of _ _ _ _ that I currently had vying for the CF job.

Good podcast as always though
