Ep 16 GM's Corner - Madison 2035

Chris Wilson and Ron Collins have a half-hour talk that covers the Wolves past, present, and future. The nature of baseball in an online league. History, coaching, teaching, and maybe a little Mons Raider here and there ... oh, and we get little lines like "when I won my _first_ Landis" tossed around like those things are just so much candy.

Have to say I enjoyed talking with you Ron. My first time using Skype and actually talking or meeting with another member of one of these leagues. And I’ve been in them quite a while.

And wow, I hate hearing my own voice.

I'm always startled by how I sound on these vs. how I sound in my head. :)

Now that was an enjoyable podcast.
Perfect length.

I loved the Vancouver/Madison rivalry that existed back in the late '90's and first decade of the 2000's.
Chris and I were always trying to reverse jinx each other on the forums.

As for the upcoming September, Madison faces Vancouver seven times (starting next sim).
Since I have nothing in the minors to call up and try out via expanded rosters, Madison will see our regular guys.
We'll do everything we can to beat them seven times. Unfortunately everything we can will not be enough.

Oh, and that stolen base guy with Madison is amazing.
I think next year I will amp up Ki-seop Park base stealing strategy.

Finally listened to this!! Where you from Chris? Your accent sounds like Florida or Georgia. I moved to Texas 13 years ago and I'm starting pick up regions for accents.

And even though I'm 47, my voice still sounds like I'm a little kid... lol.

Anyway, well done Ron and Chris. I enjoyed listening to this.

I am from the Southwestern portion of Virginia. My accent comes off as being further south. I guess I'm just a hillbilly from the Appalachian Mountains. haha

I can be in Tennessee in 45 minutes, Kentucky in 20, North Carolina in about 90 minutes, and West Virginia in 90 minutes. I can be in Ohio in 4 hours but it takes me about 8 hours to get to Washington DC.

These are great - it funny how you imaging someone sounds in your head then you hear them for the first time. These are great. I'm gonna bing them tonight while I work on the newest BBARGOTW!
