Re: A Few Beers In 2035.1
I'd love to join sometime. You guys usually seem to do it Saturday nights, so it might be tough. I get up for work at 5am(4am Central) Sunday mornings and really can't drink too much that night.Rubaboo wrote:You're welcome to join on the next one and help make sure we hit the 4 hour minimum.ae37jr wrote:Only three hours? What a bunch of lightweights. That's not even enough time to break the seal. Will check this out tomorrow.

I dont know if you guys knew this, but I managed to win the Landis last year having no pitching. Truly a remarkable accomplishment haha.

I love how brett spent the last chunk of the pod thinking Salazar was on Brooklyn and was wondering how they can dump him to get money to resign Balderas.

Re: A Few Beers In 2035.1
I could re-sign Balderas right now if I wanted. My finances aren't as bad as they appear in the reports. I might lose money, but not $20 million. The thing that really killed me this winter is the wonkiness in the fan interest this version. After losing Tavio/Mario and the fan interest penalty, I acquired.....usnspecialist wrote:I love how brett spent the last chunk of the pod thinking Salazar was on Brooklyn and was wondering how they can dump him to get money to resign Balderas.

---and my fan interest is actually 2 points lower. I would get the e-mails saying the fans are super excited, but no bump to the FI. So I'm being a lot more cautious about extensions right now. Extending Balderas is directly linked to our ability to compete. If we managed to stay relevant then fans will continue to show up, fan interest should grow, and next years budget will rise even more. If we sink then there is no point in keeping him. He's tearing the cover off the ball and will be great trade bait to a team that needs one more piece.

The whole idea is to relax with a few adult beverages and just browse and BS about the going’s on of the league. The more voices the better. Also we disparage Jon Reed. Terrible human being that guy...scottsdale_joe wrote:Wow, some of these are long.

Re: A Few Beers In 2035.1
I just got to the part where you guys are trying to figure out my pitching staff. lol. It's exactly the reaction that I picture people getting. Bates was in the minors because we played Montreal and San Antonio. Both teams have a lot of right handed power bats. It also helped set up our series this week against Jacksonville who are very lefty heavy.

Re: A Few Beers In 2035.1
Man...only an hour into this and so much Nashville bashing. Good stuff though. This is definitely a tough league to jump right into but I'll get there. Sure, first few moves even left me looking back on them but they are getting better, at least in my eyes. The Plan will be vindicated! I dont like to share The Plan as I dont really see the value in telegraphing potential moves. A Landis would be great but I'm in no hurry.
Here is some insight into The Plan for you though - I'm trying to make the Goats more into the 1995-2005 Atlanta Braves instead of the 1997/2003 Miami Marlins. Looking to build the long-term juggernaut, not the win-and-burn-it-down version.
Looking forward to hearing the rest of this tonight.

I think most of us are trying to do that. I can say at this point, I'm not because I'm trying to win with the guys I have now. But that is usually my goal.GoldenOne wrote:Here is some insight into The Plan for you though - I'm trying to make the Goats more into the 1995-2005 Atlanta Braves instead of the 1997/2003 Miami Marlins.
