Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
Just my opinion, but Leon is probably best off both short and long term in the bullpen. He's injury prone and has just a 5 stamina. A dangerous combo. His pitch ratings are also sketchy. The 9 slider is great. But that and a 7 fastball isn't dominate enough to survive as a two pitch starter. The curve and change are throw away pitches and the circle change? Even if it develops, which is 50/50 at best, would still be lacking as a 5. As a starter he'll just be a guy that looks better then he is. If converted, he would be one of the best RP in the game. Something like 11/8/7 throwing 100mph+ with an 11 rated slider.bcslouck wrote:
*Leon will be on the roster as long as I don't get a SP by next sim. He was on the team, but was horrible. Hasn't been that great at AAA either. But I agree, I need to add a SP or have one of my guys step up. Behner and Reyes have been doing well of late.

Your opinion is valid and I've been weighing the conversion option for the last season or 2, mainly because of his injury history, but with everything else you said in mind as well.ae37jr wrote:Just my opinion, but Leon is probably best off both short and long term in the bullpen. Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
im not sure if i am the first guy to make it to the 3 hour mark, but i had to laugh when i heard fred talk about needing to make the playoffs in 4 years. That was definitely in reference to me saying he had no chance in that effectively wild pod with ted/tyler.

Loving the LBC hate fest!
How many more innings does Pepe Castillo have to pitch before you guys recognize that he's actually good? 545 and counting...

As I was listening on my commute this morning, I was thinking that YS and LBC needed to issue a joint press release in support of Castillo amidst this slander.RonCo wrote:Pepe Castillo will always be YS9 fans favorite pitcher outside YS.Lane wrote:Loving the LBC hate fest!

Believe it or not, I finished the whole thing! It took like three days and I'm behind on all my other podcasts, but this one was a blast.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
Four hours is clearly way too long for a routine audience. I'm trying to keep the things I'm doing to 15-25 minutes, but they take a lot of editing to get them to that size, and even then they have a tendency to go a little longer.

Still, it was worth the full listen. Lots of fun. I learned some thing that aren't actually quite true, too.

Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
four hours is long (and I think both brett and fred mentioned they would try to keep them shorter), but I actually didn't mind the raw, unedited feel to it. It fit the type of podcast well.RonCo wrote:Four hours is clearly way too long for a routine audience. Re: A Few Beers In Episode 1
My vision for this thing long term is that it will be raw, either post or don't post. Like Ron said, that's kinda what makes it. 4 hours is way too long so we'll have to try to figure out a format that works to put out a product that is listenable while not being so short that it fails to capture the magic. Maybe going forward we'll try to run for an hour on a loose itinerary and then go free form after that, then post both? I hesitate to restrict the natural flow too much because that's what makes it fun.
