Sim #15 (recap) was a kind of palate cleanser for the All-Star break, a lone 4-game home series vs Brooklyn on the docket. Despite splitting the set, it seemed that even Boise was ready to move on to the 2nd-half of the season scoring an alarming 2.5 runs/game while allowing 4.3. But in one series that was enough for a split.

CL Mario Santos is on a great streak of getting handed save opps and converting all of them. He had 2 in the Brooklyn series. P Buddhapalita Kankipati had his 4th solid start in 5 games going 5.1 innings allowing only 2 hits and 1 run, and P Paul Cherry shed his 2060 flu long enough to pitch 2 scoreless innings in 2 appearances striking out 3. But we have to go with bin Khairy's start against the Robins on the 6th. He cleared 7.1 innings allowing 8 hits but just 2 runs, walking none, and fanning 6.

Catcher Tadanobu Otani didn't slash well in the Brooklyn series, but he added 2 tallies to both his homerun and RBI ledger. RF Martin Hemming has come alive since being tasked with hitting against lefties, too, and last week he slashed .438/.438/.625 with a HR, 2 RBI, and 10 TB. LF Cosmo Pan has a ways to go but he's trending up from his sour opening to the year as he provided 1 double, 2 HR, and 2 RBI while slashing .357/.400/.857 vs the Robins. But Bayou did Bayou things in the short series: .357/.438/.571, 1 HR, 3 RBI, and swiping 3 bases to make it 34 on the year.
