Boise Spuds 51 39 .567 -2 DIV - WC L10: 6-4 Strk: W3

A 3-3 Sim against two of the top teams in the Atlantic Division was not terrible for the Spuds. Especially in that they kept pace with the top of the Frontier that has two teams with 6-game win streaks and another matching Boise's three. It was a costly Sim, though, with the loss of SP Jeremy Nickerson for the year. Pitching overall let Boise down in Sim #14 with the squad allowing 4.3 runs/game.

v Charlotte 2-7 L
v Charlotte 1-7 L

Boise took the first two games of this series so there was a some room for error, but the Spuds still used more of it than they should have. The third game in the series was decided in the 1st inning where Spuds SP Marvin 'Groucho' Winston gave up a triple, a double, a 2-run HR to Flyers RF Fuad Demirel and a grand slam to LF Fawwaz Amin. The offense didn't have any answers for Charlotte SP John 'Little Johnny' Rasmussen III, either, who allowed 1 run on 7 hits and fanned 7 in 7.2 innings. The finale of the series was a tight affair with the teams tied 1-1 after the 3rd inning. Charlotte began to chip away at Boise pitching from there. Spuds SP Mario Reyes had a good outing allowing just 2 earned runs in 5.0 innings, but RP Samir Qasim issued 3 walks and gave up two RBI singles to put the game out of reach in the 9th. Charlotte SP Mauro Mendoza was stellar tossing 8 innings of 1-run ball allowing only 7 hits.

v Charm City 6-8 L
v Charm City 5-1 W
v Charm City 4-1 W
v Charm City 6-2 W

A 4-game series vs Charm City started off disastrously. Boise SP Jeremy Nickerson not only gave up a grand slam to the Jimmies RF Geoffrey 'Flash' Dodson but ultimately went down with a torn rotator cuff that will cost him the rest of this season and most of 2059. The Spuds were able to apply some pressure on the visitors with a 4-run 4th that included a 2-run triple from 2B Marcello Custello and a 2-run double from C Juan González, but Boise was unable to overcome the early woes. After the opener, however, Spuds pitching grabbed the series by the throat. The 2nd game featured a gem from Spuds SP Doug Eckhoff who shutout the Jimmies for 6 innings and RP Ash Davenport would ultimately earn the save. Boise again scored 4 runs in the 4th with a 2-run double from 3B Mahine 'Dragnet' Karetu another RBI double from DH Alfonso Rúbio and a sacrifice fly from C Sergei Bobrovsky. The third affair, featured a 1-run, 4-hit outing from Boise SP Matt McCartney and another save for CL Mario Santos. Boise posted yet another 4-game inning in the 6th when Rúbio belted a 3-run HR off Charm City SP Alex Payne and Bobrovsky followed with a solo shot of his own. In the finale, Spuds Marvin Winston went 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with RP Anthony Annear and Samir Qasim shutting down the Jimmies the rest of the way. Boise used yet another 4-run inning to power the win with a RBI single from Karetu and another HR from Sergei Bobrovsky scoring 3 runs. Taking 3 of 4 from Charm City was a much needed outcome.
