As the Midseason Classic approaches GMs will be looking to post their choices for the All-Stars. Here, on the pitching side, are some arms that should grab the attention of some of them.

SP

Doug Eckhoff
15 G, 14 GS, 9-2, 2.68 ERA, 80.2 IP, 54 HA, 61 K, 0.92 WHIP, +1.8 WAR
JL SP Leaderboard:
ERA: 2nd (2.68)
Wins: 4th (9)
WHIP: 1st (0.92)
rWAR: 3rd (+3.0)
BABIP: 1st (.212)
OAVG: 1st (.186)
Win %: 2nd (81.8%)
It will be criminal if Eckhoff is not included in the starting rotation for the JL All-Stars. In addition to posting the 2nd lowest ERA, his WHIP is the only one under 1.00 and he is holding opposing hitters to a miniscule .186. Frankly, if he continues this pace, he should be in the conversation for JL Steve Nebraska award. There, I said it.

Jeremy Nickerson
16 G, 16 GS, 3.03 ERA, 86.0 IP, 83 HA, 72 K, 1.28 WHIP, +1.1 WAR
JL SP Leaderboard:
ERA: 5th (3.03)
Wins: 3rd (10)
Win %: 1st (83.3%)
Nickerson is not the slam dunk that Eckhoff is, but he should get some looks. His 83.3% win pct is outstanding for a starting pitcher and he's in the top 5 in ERA.
Ben Teague, GM Boise Spuds
2682-3175, .457 PCT (5,857 games, 36 seasons)
11 Playoff Appearances, 1 Championship

Former BBA GM: Many (Monty Brewster Memorial Series champion: 1997)
Former GBC GM: Jerusalem, Buenos Aires

That Eckhoff trade looks great. I like Fox too, but trading a RP for a Nebraska candidate is a win.

I’m glad Nickerson didn’t get stuck in the bullpen and is holding up as a starter.
