What to do with this club? A 3-3 Sim #3 is more palatable than getting blanked like Sim #2, but even wins are being eked out by 1-2 runs regardless of the game being a low-scoring or high-scoring affair. But we think some players are coming around when you look closer at the numbers.
Pitcher
SP Logan Hill
4 G, 4 GS, 2-1, 22.0 IP, 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, +0.5 WAR
The Spuds' ace, Hill put together a great outing after getting clobbered 2 starts in a row. He tossed 7.1 innings of 1-run ball giving up only 4 hits but striking out only 2. But this team will take that every outing if he could deliver...and he has the skill to do so.
Batter
CF Lou Bayou
19 G, 77 AB, 6 2B, 8 RBI, .351/.383/.429, +0.1 WAR
Bayou is one of the scarce Spuds who is having a decent time at the plate to start the season. No, he doesn't hit homeruns - that is not his job. But he still collects RBI via extra-base hits and gets on base at a high tune. The CF slashed .391/.391/.522 in Sim #3 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI.
Sim #3: P Logan Hill, CF Lou Bayou
Sim #2: P David Molina, CF Lou Bayou
Sim #1: P Harold Nothard, SS Qutuz Mahdi
