As mentioned in the recap of this Sim this was a crucial week. It didn't go as planned...but somehow turned out fine. The plan was to take 3-of-3 from Edmonton then at least 2 from Mexico City. Didn't happen. Boise managed to take 2 from Edmonton and 1 from Mexico City. But, plot twist, Rocky Mountain had an astounding Sim which included sweeping Mexico City. All in all, it pulled the Spuds one game closer to Mexico City even if it put them 2 games behind the Oysters. Fair deal.
SPUDS OF THE SIM - SIM #14
Pitcher
P Toshikuni Kubo
33 G, 3-1, 1 SV, 57.0 IP, 2.84 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, +1.2 WAR
Kubo has been outstanding all season. He just happened to stand out in Sim #14. Kubo made 3 appearances throwing a total of 7.0 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits while fanning 5. There are few parts of the squad that new GM Ben Teague has not done a makeover on and the bullpen is one and the Spuds have a top 3 pen.
Batter
LF Grzegorz Kubrick
41 G, 31 GS, 7 2B, 12 HR, 31 RBI, .295/.342/.604, +1.0 WAR
Kubrick has been quietly steady for Boise. He hadn't hit many HR, but that's not his job. Except in Sim #14 he decided to make it his job. Kubrick drove in 10 runs and scored 6 while mashing 5 HR. His other hits were 3 singles. He slashed .444/.474/1.278.
