Boise Spuds 45 31 .592 6.5 GB L10: 4-6 Strk: L2

Boise is losing altitude at an increasing rate. They came out 3-3 in Sim #12, but treading water is not helping. Boise slipped another game behind Frontier Division leading Mexico City to now trail by 6.5 games. More concerning is that they are now tied for 3rd with Calgary and Rocky Mountain has taken the #2 spot. They did win a series they were supposed to and can't be shamed for losing a 3-game vs Charm City. But, again, this team needs wins now.

@ Charlotte 4-5(10) L
@ Charlotte 6-2 W
@ Charlotte 4-2 W

As mentioned above, Boise needed to win this series as they can't afford to slip even a jot. His stats say otherwise but it just feels like Boise closer Harold Nothard is blowing saves left and right this month. It may be that he is actually losing the games he bobbles so it sticks out more. He did that thing in the opener @ Charlotte and allowed the Flyers to walkoff in the 10th. The next two games were Boise games: SP going deep and the backend of the bullpen wrapping things up. Starters Mauro Mendoza and Ommar bin Ayyub shined in the two games to win the series.

v Charm City 6-1 W
v Charm City 7-13 L
v Charm City 4-7 L

This was going to be a tough series regardless of the direction of the two teams. Boise lefty Logan Hill shutdown the Jimmies in the opener (the one run was allowed by a RP). LF Paul Kemp and 1B Alfonso Rúbio had 2 RBI apiece to fuel the offense. The Spuds would pay for the victory in the last two games of the series as Charm City scored 6(!) runs in the 9th of the 2nd game to break a 7-7 tie and win the game 13-7. Boise middle relief got absolutely roasted. In the rubber game, the Jimmies pushed across 3 in the 5th inning and that proved to be the difference in a 7-4 loss. SP Gavrilovich Mastinsky gave up 6 runs on 11 hits in 4.1 innings that dug a hole from which the Spuds could not recover.
