Image WEEK IN REVIEW: (1-2) An abbreviated week heading into the All-Star break, Boise played three games at home against the division-leading Calgary Pioneers. After winning the first game of the week, the Spuds dropped the next two, each by just one run. With a much needed break coming up, Boise finds themselves just two games back of Calgary and with the top spot in the Johnson League wild card standings.

ORE-IDA® TATER-TOTS EMOJI SUMMARY OF THE WEEK: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

HITTER OF THE WEEK: José Rivera - 3-for-8, 1 HR, 3 RBI (.375 AVG, 1.125 OPS)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Celio Marin - 1 G, 7.0 IP, 1-0, 4 K/0 BB (2.57 ERA, 1.00 WHIP)

GAME OF THE WEEK: Boise picked up a big win at home on July 7th against rival Calgary, keeping first place just in reach. Starting pitcher Celio Marin played a key role in the triumph, going 7 innings and giving up just two runs while improving his record on the year to 11-4. The biggest at-bat came in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-2, Spuds. With a runner on 1st and two down, reliever Tom Warren retired star slugger Werner McConnell, Jr. with a 1-2 slider. The save was Warren's 8th in 9 tries.

NEWS AND NOTES: Boise had four representatives in the All-Star Game: CF Dennis French was voted in and 2B Jared Gillstrom, LF Ricardo Ruíz, and C Hank Brewer were each selected as reserves...while French struggled with an 0-for-3 effort, the three other Spuds all had big parts in helping the Johnson League to victory: Gillstrom went 1-for-1 with a run and RBI, Ruíz hit a solo home run in the 8th inning, and Brewer drew a walk in his lone at-bat and eventually came around to score...Boise's schedule immediately after the break is a tough one, as the Spuds will play eight games in seven days, including a three-game set in Las Vegas against the surging Hustlers
