Tater Talk: 2039.49 – Week in Review, 9/22-9/29

Image WEEK IN REVIEW (2-5): The Spuds finished the year on a 6-12 run, putting a damper on what could be considered a positive year for the young club. The Spuds' record was 77-85, a three game improvement from last year and a franchise-high in wins. Despite finishing in fourth place in the Frontier Division, the eight games between division-winning Calgary and Boise surpassed last year's then-best nineteen games back. The Spuds also set a franchise record in attendance, surpassing 2.7M for only the second time. The high note of the Spuds' 2039 could come during awards season, as the face of the franchise, Dennis French, is in the running for the Frick League's Sawyer Silk Award for most outstanding offensive player.

ORE-IDA® TATER-TOTS EMOJI SUMMARY OF THE WEEK: ⌛😌

HITTERS OF THE WEEK: Eliseu Satino - 11-for-22, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 7 R (.500 AVG, 1.000 SLG)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Ricardo Ortíz - 0-1, 9⅔ IP (1.86 ERA, 1.14 WHIP)

GAME OF THE WEEK: Boise played the role of spoiler on September 27th, earning an 11-6 victory in the opening set of a three-game series with division rival and playoff hopeful Seattle. The Storm likely needed to sweep the Spuds, along with some additional help, to sneak into the post-season but a 4-for-5 game with 3 RBI by Eliseu Satino, along with 3⅔ strong innings of relief by September call-up Marcos Sánchez provided what Boise needed to up-end Seattle.
