Germán, who learned of his All-Star selection just hours before the game, pitched like one of the league's best, allowing only two runs in six quality innings and earning his 11th win of the year. With the game knotted at 2-2, Alfredo Salazar hit a sacrifice fly to score the go-ahead run, allowing Bill Pidduck and Douglas van Osch to provide three shutout innings out of the bullpen.
