Tater Talk: 2039.34 – Week in Review, 6/17-6/23

Image WEEK IN REVIEW (1-5): The Spuds looked like mashed potatoes yet again, with it's second 1-5 stretch in three weeks. Boise's frigid June has the team a season-low five games under .500 and trailing the division leader by 4 games.

ORE-IDA® TATER-TOTS EMOJI SUMMARY OF THE WEEK: 💣 3️⃣ 2️⃣ 1️⃣...

HITTER OF THE WEEK: Alfredo Salazar - 5-for-15, 3 HR, 4 RBI (.333 AVG, 1.322 OPS)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Dave Walsh - 1 W, 3 IP, 0 ER

GAME OF THE WEEK: Boise stopped a five-game skid with a 2-1 win over the Crusaders on June 23rd. The nearly-five hour, thirteen inning affair was a show between the teams' pitching staffs, namely the Spuds bullpen and California starter url= https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 23942.html]Luis Gracía[/url]. Gracía was named player of the game despite being on the losing side, thanks to eight innings of only one-hit, one-run ball. Boise's starter Pancho Germán pitched two scoreless innings before being pulled after complaining of a sore thumb in his pitching hand. The bullpen then gave the team eleven innings, allowing only one run. The Spuds put the go-ahead run in the top of the thirteenth inning thanks to a wild pitch to bring home Pedro Díaz, who got on-board with a one-out double before moving over to third on a fielder's choice.

NEWS AND NOTES: Back-up catcher Allan MacHugh will miss the next two weeks after suffering a snakebite yesterday...Howard Beauregard will be called up to make his BBA debut and fill-in as the back-up catcher for Boise...with the trade deadline less than two months away, look for GM Joe Lederer to be active, as many believe the team will likely be sellers rather than buyers as the team looks to continue to rebuild its minor league system and organizational depth

DOWN ON THE FARM: Salt Lake City (AAA) went 4-3 during the week thanks to impressive pitching and defense, as the Alpines surrendered only 3.7 runs per game over the course of the week...two-way experiment António Lara has been promoted to AAA and will continue to pitch in the rotation and fill-in as a pinch-hitter/right fielder on his days off...Buffalo continued its impressive June play, going 5-2 and jumping back into second place in the division...Tulsa (A) went 3-2 during a short week and remains in 3rd place in the division standings...Majestic (Short A) and Tijuana (Rookie) start their seasons this upcoming week and will give the front office and fans the chance to see the new players signed from the 2039 Draft
