Image WEEK IN REVIEW (2-5): A second poor week of results to the tune of 3 wins and 11 losses, Boise finds itself no longer qualified for a Wild Card spot, falling to a tie with Seattle for second place in the Frontier and now looking up in a three-way tie for 5th place in the Frick Wild Card.

ORE-IDA® TATER-TOTS EMOJI SUMMARY OF THE WEEK: ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

HITTER OF THE WEEK: Carlos Muñóz - 10-for-21, 1 HR, 7 RBI (.476 AVG, 1.304 OPS)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Tomás Chávez - 3 G, 7.0 IP, 1 ER (1.29 ERA)

GAME OF THE WEEK: On May 28th, Boise defeated Des Moines 7-1 to end a three game skid in an all-around team effort. Seven Spuds starters recorded at least one hit, including 3-for-4 performances from Muñóz and Norm Smith and starter Pancho Germán continued his breakout season, going five innings of shut-out ball before handing the ball off to the bullpen.

NEWS AND NOTES: Newly arrived Eliseu Satino has gotten off to a great start in his Boise career, slashing .429/.484/.643 in his first week with the club...in order to jump-start the offense, manager Barrett Callahan has moved Dennis French into the lead-off spot, dropping the struggling Alfredo Salazar in the lineup...during a 7-2 loss to Vancouver on May 31st, 2B Ramón Vela suffered a strained back and will miss the next two weeks...George Helton, hitting .269/.465/.365 in AAA, was called up and will replace Vela in the starting lineup

DOWN ON THE FARM: Salt Lake City (AAA) ontinues to struggle, going 1-6 on the week and dropping to last place in the division with a 21-34 record...RF Jim Des Jardien stayed hot, going 7-for-21 in the week with 4 HR to up his slashline for the year to .337/.396/.633...Des Jardien's start, combined with his impressive 33 HR and 3.2 WAR campaign in AA last year, has seen his value skyrocket...Buffalo (AA) split the six games on its schedule and remains in the third place in the Colonial division...Bisons fans can expect to see some new faces this week, with Boise's top prospect, Félix Román, getting promoted to Double A...joining Román in the call-up will be starting pitcher Flynn Bernard (5-2, 3.25 ERA, 1.08 WHIP in Tulsa)...the António Lara Project continues to pay-off, as the 29-year-old veteran leftfielder's transition into a two-way player has provided positive signs...on offense, Lara is hitting .256/.371/.419 and on the mound, his first taste of pitching since 2032, the righty has a 2-0 record, 2.25 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in 20 innings...as the summer continues, look for Lara to move up to AAA and continue the two-way experiment...Tulsa (A) went 2-5 during the week but stayed above .500 (29-27) and in second place in its division...with the Short Season Hot Springs Majestics and Rookie Ball Tijuana Cutthroats seasons starting in two weeks, look for many of Boise's top young players continue their professional careers, including those from the recent 2039 draft class

French to the leadoff role is probably a good move--though really, you'd just like to field a lineup where French hits in every other slot and he gets a fleet of designated runners.

Nice to see Salazar's still got a little pop. As long as his OBP stays up in that .350-.360 range, he's got some value.
