WEEK IN REVIEW (2-3): A second-straight losing week has pundits wondering if Boise's decent start has been smoke and mirrors, perhaps taking advantage of a heavy home schedule in the first month. The Spuds' two wins for the week were in the last game of both series, salvaging what could have been a terrible stretch of games. GAME OF THE WEEK: On May 9th, the Spuds eeked out an extra-inning victory against San Fernando to prevent a three-game sweep at the hands of the Bears. Boise fells behind early, giving up two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Marcos Sánchez and Félix Alvarado teamed up out of the bullpen to pitch a combined 6⅔ innings, allowing only one run to keep the Spuds in the contest. After nine innings, the score was tied 5-5 and in the top half of the tenth, António Baca lead off with a solo home run to put the Spuds up. Boise would tack on one more run and eventually hold onto a 7-6 win.
