Boise 2038.11 - Can Frenchy Do it
So, we're 103 games into the season and Boise just suffered an embarrassing sweep by the Yellow something or other 9...I think we got outscored 21-4 or something embarrassing of that nature. We came back and beat up Omaha, taking 2 of 3. Overall Boise has started to fade, which isn't surprising give the state of the rotation....
That said, Dennis French continues to hit his way toward a place in the record books. Back in 2029, one Holden Blackwell produced 256 hits in a single season, setting a BBA record for hits in a single season. Whilst Frenchy has "cooled off" a bit (currently only hitting .344 in July), he is still riding a 14 game hitting streak at the moment and is on pace to amass 258-ish hits this season. He's also on pace to get on base a total of 307-ish times this season. He's also on pace to produce 412 Total Bases; this wouldn't be a record or even really close, but it's impressive. Overall, I think it would be a bit of an upset if he broke the single season hit record at the ripe old age of 21, but if he has a chance to do it we will run his buttocks out there everyday.
Tater Tots:
- Boise is gearing up to get Maxim Makin back in the rotation in mid to late August and Jorge Baez should get a few starts the last 3 weeks or so in the season.
- Dave Walsh is having an amazing rookie season out of the bullpen. The questions are: 1) Will he receive any consideration as a ROY candidate as a RP and 2) Will he be seriously considered as a candidate for RP of the year? It should be an interesting run down the stretch.

ha...he's struggling against lefties with these splits: .333/.378/.477/.855...nothing like he is vs RHP but still impressive. All in all, I don't see why teams would even worry about him as the rotation is so bad that the other teams are going to score 7 runs. Plus we do have Terrado and Munoz lighting up the other side of the plate...I could write a daily Dennis French article...

You know, what you could do is set up a weekly thing and call it Frenchy’s World or something like that and then highlight the one or two (or five - whatever you like) of his most outrageous performances of that week. Something like, On Wednesday, he went 3 for 5 with a double, a homer, and 4 RBI’s, leaving the Las Vegas bullpen weeping like little girls at a Freddy Krueger movie. The next night, he lulled Vegas into a false sense that he’s merely superhuman, going 1-3 with a run scored. Spuds fan could only wonder, would our hero ever hit again? Why yes, yes he would. He closed out the series going 4-4 with a double and a 2-run homer to deep right off Vegas starter Jim Smith. His slash line for the series: .364/.402/.555.
You’d have easy, regular TN posts, and the rest of us could keep up with the force of nature that is Dennis French.

And then there's the hit-men that fans of division rivals would send to ambush hit hotel rooms, and the manservant he hires as body guards. And the girls...or the guys, assuming he's bent that way. And the media deal he signs with the Food Web-net to post his favorite recipes and his workout regimin and the book he's dictating in between going 3-5 with a pair of homers. And...

I seriously would read something like that regularly - he’s a TN goldmine!
