The Boise Spuds issued a statement today regarding the release of a new logo.

"A tremendous amount of energy has gone into the development of this logo. We have conducted countless focus groups to come up with a design that will not only resonate with millennials, but will be embraced by the most hardcore of Spud fans, who go all the way back to 2035 when this great club was founded. The club would like to thank Dieter von Justafan, the preeminent artistic mind and graphic designer of our time, for having the special vision to bring this creation to life. Not only will this logo resonate with our fanbase and drive future attendance, it is also ...and more importantly... scientifically designed to improve the performance of our pitching staff. Every aspect of the design has serves a specific purpose, from the calming color palette that is scientifically proven to improve pitcher control to the curvature of the letters that will help attract top notch free agent hurlers at a below market prices. We feel this change helps get the club on track to compete for a championship before the decade draws to an end, certainly before the turn of the century."
