Boise struggled through a 2-4 week thanks mostly to Calgary laying down a sweep. The offense hit a dismal .208 as a team but the power numbers propped them up a bit thanks to 9 homers. JJ McQuade was his usual brilliant self but rumor has it he is upset with the teams performance thus far. Juan Parra continues to also be a steadying presence for the lineup. It's Pedro Nava though that continues to excel to the surprise of many. He has quickly become one of the most popular players on the team and at the tender age of 23 perhaps he has a bright future ahead of him.
The pitching got knocked around a bit though. Especially the starting rotation. Tavio was so not Tavio giving up 3 homers in his lone start but Leon Flores continues to be a pleasant surprise. The pitching struggles were expected this season but the team plans to focus heavily on pitching in the draft for the foreseeable future. Fingers crossed...

Happy to see Flores doing well. I picked him up as a minor league free agent last season and planned to use him as a long man/righty specialist/ spot starter against righty heavy or free swinging HR hitting lineups. I feel like he has enough in the tank to have a few more good, but not great seasons.

Yup. He is doing a pretty good job of soaking up some innings for me. Popular in the clubhouse and with the fans too. Im happy I drafted him.
