The Spuds' offense slowed down a bit this week but even when the hit totals drop, the homers still fly. That muscle still allowed the team to pull off a 3-4 week when it could have been far worse. Juan Parra contributed a homer (and a triple oddly enough) to become the first Boise player to ever eclipse double digit homers. One would expect many of his teammates to join him on that list by seasons end.
Tavio's complete game streak did end but Cris Rios managed one and Leon Flores continues to spring to life. The Mark McCray experiment on the other hand may have to come to an end. Even an expansion team can only stomach that kind of performance for so long.
Being an expansion team, not a lot of emphasis was placed on securing a good bullpen as the team clearly had other areas of need and the bullpen is the easiest thing to fix on the fly. One would be remiss however not to recognize that some of the hodge podge crew have been doing quite well, Donald Foster in particular. Up to this point in the season, Foster has allowed only a single solo homerun over his 14+ innings of relief. Not too shabby.

At least McCray can't say he didn't get a serious chance.
