2034.6 And who shall lead these finely dressed young men?

A lot of information has been flowing out from Boise about the newly tenured team but one major question had yet to be answered. Who was Francis Nephi Grigg IV going to hire to build the team? He had already said he didn't plan to be too hands on of an owner so there was a growing sentiment that an established veteran GM was going to be brought in to build up the team. Just who would this man be?

As if by magic, yet another statement was sent out from the team's brand new head office in Boise that answered the question on everyone's minds almost before it even had to be asked. With the 2034 regular season officially in the books, Mr. Grigg wasted no time in announcing his GM hire.

"Another fantastic BBA regular season has just concluded and I daresay it was the most exciting season yet. Sure there were a few teams that could be penciled into the playoffs as early as late July but there was a lot of drama right until the end of the season and actually even after it should have ended. We got some extra action as the Frick League wildcard had to go to an exciting game 163 to be decided and what a wild ride it was. Omaha and Twin Cities had an exciting battle that ended with Omaha moving on to the post season after the deciding game. Omaha surely had an exciting streak to finish the season winning 13 of their final 15 games to force the game 163 and then taking that. They go to the playoffs riding a now 9 game winning streak. Congratulations to Omaha.

Perhaps you are now thinking "Wait Mr. Grigg you can't actually poach Omaha's GM right before they go into the playoffs. That's tampering!". I agree that wouldn't be very ethical and besides nothing good comes from Omaha anyway. I wouldn't dream of hiring anyone who actually spent time in that dump of a town.

Now you must be thinking I'm going to announce the spiriting away of Twin Cities GM as he also put together a fine season and late surge and nearly made the playoffs himself. To that I say bullocks. Any person insane enough to live in that arctic part of the U.S. needs to have their head checked.

No today im announcing the hire of the GM who actually bested both of those GM's late, and nearly pulled off the mother of all comebacks, Brett Schroeder. He has long been a GM in this league with a hefty 38 seasons under his belt, many playoff appearances and an all important Landis Title to his name. I was so impressed by the incredibly quick turnaround of a team that after a successful 95 win season in 2031, lost an entire pitching staff to injuries multiple times with the majority of those players no longer being viable major league players. Rather than tank, Mr Schroeder led the Mounties undermanned teams to 79, 77, and now 80 win seasons over the past 3 years all while being massively outclassed in talent. Vancouver is in a great place now with exciting young players driving the team nearly into the playoffs this season already. No doubt they will be in great shape for years to come. We hope that our new GM will be able to swiftly build Boise into an excting team."
