Boise faced down a 3-game set with Phoenix in Sim #5 (recap) and managed to take one from the 1st-place Talons as they also avoided a sweep at the hands of Rosenblatt. Even without a breakout game the offense was solid and consistent posting 5.3 runs/game. The output was uniquely balanced with 6 players collecting 4 RBI. Pitching did just enough in the 4 wins in the Sim to cover allowing 8 runs in both of the losses.
SPUDS OF THE SIM - SIM #5
Pitcher

SP Josh 'Kid' Clark
7 G, 7 GS, 3-1, 3.83 ERA, 40.0 IP, 3.2 K/BB, 1.38 WHIP, +1.0 WAR
P Samir Qasim had a busy week making 4 appearances collecting 2 saves. But the big story was the top of the Spuds rotation finally providing that back-to-back pop needed to keep the season on a positive slope. SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan allowed just 3 runs in 13.1 innings over 2 starts, though he did walk 8 while striking out just 4. Clark bounced back from a rough outing against Rosenblatt in Sim #4 to shine in allowing only 1 run on 5 hits in 7 innings to Mexico City walking just one and fanning 6.
Batter

CF Amphibian 'Toad' Johnson
29 G, 4 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 13 RBI, .303/.328/.367, 6 SB, +0.9 WAR
The offensive production was extremely even with 6 players producing 4 RBI. 1B Tracy 'Jigga' Allison posted a double, a HR, and 5 stolen bases. LF Cosmo Pan collected his 4 RBI on 2 doubles, a triple, and 1 HR, but 'Toad' gets his first nod as a Spud slashing .368/.429/.684 generating his 4 RBI with 3 doubles and a HR and adding 2 SB.
