Boise Spuds 16 13 .552 DIV -3.5 WC - L10: 6-4 Strk: W4

Boise needed some good news from Sim #5. The team sits 3rd in the JL Frontier Division but there's not a lot of wiggle room as they top a group of 5 teams in the middle of the Frontier. It wasn't too bad. The Spuds spent the last couple of weeks getting swept at home by Las Vegas, sweeping Calgary at home, then dropping a road series at Edmonton. The squad started the Sim with 3 games in Colorado Springs, where they dropped a 3-game series to Rocky Mountain, and they flipped the calendar to May with a sweep of San Antonio in Boise. The offense is borderline suicidal and pitching/defense is having to hold down some tight games. Scoring comes in bunches as the Spuds dropped 10 on Rocky Mountain on the 30th but averaged 3 runs/game in the other 5 contests.

@ Rocky Mountain 1-6 L
@ Rocky Mountain 1-5 L
@ Rocky Mountain 10-2 W

- Starter Mario Reyes got chipped away while allowing 8 hits in 5.2 innings
- Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain's Denny Tab and Ommar bin Ayyub mostly salted the game away scattering 6 hits over 8 innings
- In the 2nd game, Spuds starter Danny Leach gave up just 2 runs in 5.1 innings but reliever Mike Alexander dropped the baton in the 7th inning.
- It was a second straight dominant pitching contest for Rocky Mountain with starter Aaron Stevens allowed just 1 run on 1 hit with 7 strikeouts in 7.2 innings
- With the finale headed into the 4th inning tied at 0, the Boise offense decided to do something (anything!). That something was scoring 7 in the 4th, then 1 in each of the next 3 innings.
- Boise LF Martin Hemming went 3-5 with a run and 4 RBI and his 2nd HR of the season. DH Per-Johan Mikkelsson kept up his steady presence going 3-5 with 3 RBI, and CF Lou Bayou added a triple.
- Just when the offense goes off, the Spuds get an outstanding pitching outing. But never look a gift horse in the mouth, right? Boise starter Muneer bin Khairy lasted 6.2 innings allowing just 1 run.

v San Antonio 2-0 W
v San Antonio 5-3 W
v San Antonio 6-5(10) W

- The Spuds can relax a bit after sweeping the Outlaws. Pitching and defense were the name of the game in the series.
- BOISE SP DOUG ECKHOFF PULLED A NO-HITTER OUT OF HIS HAT FOR THE HOME FANS! IN FACT, HE WAS ONE ALLOWED WALK AWAY FROM A PERFECT GAME!!
- LF Hemming notched 2 stolen bases
- Boise jumped on Outlaws pitching in the middle game quickly scoring 5 runs in the 2nd inning on 4 singles, 2 doubles, and San Antonio's Edmond Thomas walking in a run with bases loaded.
- The game quickly became a bullpen affair for the Spuds when starter Marvin 'Groucho' Winston was removed in the first inning with back soreness. No less than 5 pitchers followed him to usher out the 2-run victory.
- But the Spuds bullpen had nothing on Outlaws RF Dennis Armitage as he went off with a 3-4 day delivering 2 homeruns.
- The finale was a pitchers' duel through 9 innings then both teams throwing runs at the other in the 10th with Boise getting the best of it scoring 3 in the bottom of the frame to top San Antonio's 2.
- Outlaws starter Quinton Manning logged 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. Spuds SP Mario Reyes also booked 7 innings allowing 7 hits but fanning 7 as well.
- The bottom of the 10th, with Boise trailing by 2, was a thriller featuring Pedro 'The Russian Rocket' Hozven and Martin Hemming delivering back-to-back doubles and 3B Vance Cooper posting a triple and 2B Graham McFadyen collecting the walkoff with an RBI single.
