The Spuds got off to the most meh of Sims to start the season (recap here). It could have been better than 3-3, but it could be worse. There were promising signs from the Boise offense as pitchers are just getting warmed up to 2057.
SPUDS OF THE SIM - SIM #1
Pitcher
CL Harold Nothard
3 G, 0-1, 2 SV, 3.1 IP, 2.70 ERA, +0.2 WAR
Yes, the "human pucker-factor" had a really good Sim. Even as he allowed a walkoff double in Atlantic City, Nothard converted both of his save opps. If he can be mostly solid it should be a good year for the Spuds.
Batter
SS Qutuz Mahdi
6 G, 23 AB, 1 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, .478/.520/.652, +0.6 WAR
Mahdi didn't get a SotS nod in 2056 but he snags one right off the bat this year. He is featured for his dominant defense so that kind of offense production is not the norm for him. Or is it...
Sim #1: P Harold Nothard, SS Qutuz Mahdi
