The Morning Glory 2058.04: First Trade

The first trade of Brandon Slouck's tenure as GM of Rocky Mountain just came across the wire. It's not very exciting.

2B Zenobius Kazantziakis was sent to New Orleans for C Dolan Elmar.

'Zen' is a bat first 2B who can run a bit. Rocky Mountain has made it known they've looked to improve their defense while shedding money. He carries a $1,750,000 in 2058 with 2 more years of team control.

"He's a good player," said GM Brandon Slouck. "He just doesn't really fit the direction we are going in. We wish him the best in New Orleans."

Elmer is a lottery ticket prospect a long way off. He has some defensive potential but not much bat wise. He comes from New Orleans International Complex and will report to Anchorage (R Ball).

"We took a look at some guys proposed to us knowing the position we were in with 'Zen' and thought he had the best chance to take to our system. You can never have too many catchers. Duke Silver will probably start the year in Anchorage. It'll be good for Dolan to work with someone like Duke. We like to encourage our more highly touted guys to help along who they can."

"I know you guys would rather be asking me questions about a blockbuster. This trade has little impact on current roster. It just felt good to get back in the game."
