RP Javier De Jesús has reportedly been released by the Rocky Mountain Oysters.
De Jesús was recently acquired, along with RP Hughie Dunstone, from the Las Vegas Hustlers for SP Steve Warren. Since his arrival in Colorado, De Jesús saw action in 5 games, pitching 5.2 innings, to an ERA of 11.12 and 4 strikeouts to 2 walks.
De Jesús struggled during his years in Las Vegas and never really found a home in either the rotation nor the bullpen. With an average fastball and an excellent changeup, major league scouts had high hopes for De Jesús. However, his average movement on his pitches lower 90s velocity, he has just never been able to put a strong season together.
