The Morning Glory 2053.12 - Barber Making Debut

As the 2053 Rocky Mountain Oysters head into the playoffs, GM Golden is making a bold move. He has placed P Jamie Barber on the team's playoff roster.

On the second day of Spring Training, Barber, the with the Charlotte Cougars, tore a flexor tendon that shelved him for 7 months. In early May, based on his time with the Charlotte organization, GM Goldenmade a trade that centered around SP Slobodan Omeragic (who was previously acquired in the Cano to Des Moines trade) for Barber.

Barber saw himself ready for action in mid-September, too late to get any rehab work done in AAA Albuquerque. Instead, Barber got some extra work and healing done. GM Golden apparently saw enough from Barber that he has decided to add him to the playoff roster and put Barber in the bullpen, on a strict pitch-count limit.

Barber has seen the bullpen before, mostly during his 2050-2051 time with Twin Cities where he had decent numbers. The feeling here is that Golden wants to use Barber's amazing stuff, movement, and his ability to change speeds to keep the Hustlers off balance.
