The Morning Glory 2053.01 - New Top Chili in Town

The El Paso Chilis have been in existence since the 2035 expansion of the BBA. With Nigel Laverik as its first GM, the team found limited success in its first six seasons, averaging 73 wins in those years, and finishing as high as 3rd in the division in just its second year.

The past couple of seasons saw the teams most recent GM, John Momberg, get the Chilis back to some sort of respectability, with 84, 71, and 71 wins. Those 84 wins in the 2050 season were the highest wins the team has seen and was the first time they finished above a .500 record during the team’s existence.

Now, as we enter the 2053 season, the Chilis have moved on to another GM as Momberg took the helm of a more storied franchise in Atlantic City. Coming in behind him is a grizzled BBA-veteran GM, Brett Golden.

Golden started his BBA career with the Nashville Goats (now Bluebirds) in 2034 and was there for 6 seasons and 408 wins. Following his time in Nashville, Golden was the first, and only, GM for the Charlotte Cougars from 2040-2052 where he guided the team to 925 wins, 5 playoff appearances, in those 12 seasons.

Golden is known for shaking things up and seems to never shy away from making a deal. With the top system in the BBA, will we see if Golden has turned over a new leaf or if we should expect more of the same.
