Game 55 & 56 @ Edmonton Jackrabbits

It ended up a good start to June as it turned out. Trailing 2-4 going into the ninth Chilis managed two runs to send us to extra innings and scored two more in the tenth to seal the win. Tony Hernandez went 2-4 with a walk scoring once while Luis Maldonado entered the game as a ninth inning pinch-hitter and hit the vital 2-run homer to tie the game, his tenth of the season. Augusto Ramirez, who’s been struggling a bit in 2045, pitched two clean innings to improve his record to 2-1. El Paso, who only managed six hits all game, scored all their seven runs in the fifth innings to finish off the Jackrabbits. Tommy Cochran went 2-4 scoring once and driving three runs in, seven of the El Paso players managed to score a run. Chris Sackett pitched deep into the seventh to gain his second win and Reynold Voermans earned his sixth save of the season. El Paso winning their second successive series.
Games 57 & 58 vs Boise Spuds

After Boise scored a run in the third, fourth & fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead, the Chilis had tied it up at 3-3 within the next two innings. It went to extra innings and both teams added a run in the 13th innings before El Paso finally got the walk-off run in the 14th innings as Mario Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch. Jason Bowen went 2-5 with a walk scoring twice including the solo homer in the 13th that sent us to the vital 14th innings. Adrian Garcia earning his first win of 2045. The second game exploded with long balls as the teams sent a total of eight balls over the fences, five by the spuds. Boise scored three runs in three separate innings and added a couple of 2-run innings as well. Luis Maldonado & Tony Hernandez both went 3-5, scoring two runs each. Jason Bowen finished off the scoring with a Grand Slam in the bottom of the ninth but Chilis were way to far behind by then. Jose Montoya was tagged with the loss, dropping his record to 4-7.
Game 59 & 60 vs Jacksonville Hurricanes

Six runs in the second innings of game one against Jacksonville was almost enough to take the win, three runs in the fourth sealed the win. Tony Hernandez going 3-5, scoring twice and driving in three runs. Kade Lebowski, this year’s Rule 5 pick is now taking a more active role in spelling Luis Maldonado, hit his first BBA home. Fernando Figueroa, now starting to use his bat gradually, went 2-3 with a walk, scoring once and picking up two RBI, and loving life in CF with his ZR up to +5.1. Ramon Guerrero, despite walking five, managed to do enough to get his third win. A flurry of runs in the first opened game two as both sides added two runs in the first innings. Jacksonville added three more in the third innings, but El Paso topped that with four in the bottom half. A steady trickle of one-run innings slowly swung the game in favour of the Hurricanes though and two in the eighth sealed Jacksonville’s win. Tommy Cochran went 3-5, scoring twice and driving three runs in while Kade Lebowski went 2-4 with a walk and scored twice as well as stealing a couple of bases.
