Sim 8: Three wins move Coyotes into middle of the pack

May 18th @ San Jose Sharks W 7-0
Again, Albuquerque avoid a sweep with a final game shutout. Two runs in each of the first two innings proved to be enough as Sharks are held to a mere two hits. Lead-off man Aloisio Prudente went 2-2 as well as working three walks, he scored twice and drove three runs in .Not all was sweetness and light though as Raul Lopez went 0-5, striking out all five times. Bartolo Deleon earned his first ever Triple-A win as he allowed just two hits and a walk in six innings of work.

May 19th vs Quincy Firedancers L 4-6
The Firedancers hit five runs in the fifth innings to overcome Coyote’s three in the first innings and Albuquerque just couldn’t get back into the game. Matt Chambers activated from the IL went 2-2 with a walk but failed to trouble the scorers while Chris Jenkins, newly demoted from El Paso had hit a first innings 3-run homer as his only hit of the day.

May 20th vs Quincy Firedancers W 9-6
Quincy were pleased by racking up five runs over the first two innings, but Coyotes hit five in the bottom of the second to tie up the game including as Grand Slam by Matt Chambers who also added a seventh innings solo homer. Four one-run innings by Albuquerque sealed the win, Quincy not helped by three errors. Six of the Coyotes managed two hits and Chambers was man of the match with his five RBI. Taito Kimmonen got the hook just into the second innings having allowed nine hits, three runs and leaving two on base. Former Rule 5 pick Sergio Rojas allowed both those inherited runners to score, but went near four innings only allowing two hits & two walks to earn his first win of the season.

May 23rd vs Missouri Blues L 3-4
The Blues came to town and snapped a 2-2 tie with two runs in the fourth innings which proved to be enough. Chris Jenkins went 2-4 scoring once while Arturo Huerta also went 2-4, but just drove a run in. Chet Dickinson struck out seven but nine hits and four runs conceded earned him his fifth loss of the season.

May 24th vs Missouri Blues W 7-1
Albuquerque returned to winning ways by scoring a run in each of the first three innings and putting an exclamation point on that with three in the fourth before the Blues even got on the board. Luis Ayla went 4-5 with three RBI and a run scored while Matt Chambers 2-4 included a solo homer as he scored twice and picked up two RBI. Joe Jones six innings of work, allowing just one hit & one run, improved his record to 3-5.
